What to do and see around Les Vallées Beach

On the Penthièvre coast, on the edge of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc, Pléneuf-Val-André is one of the most elegant seaside resorts in the Côtes-d’Armor. Its large 2.5 km beach of white sand, lined with a seafront promenade and Belle Époque villas, is sheltered from the wind and ideal for swimming as well as stand up paddleboarding and sea kayaking. With Playa-Rent, you can get a paddle board or kayak in seconds with a simple QR code, with no booking and no queue. Paddle board rental in Val-André has never been so easy for exploring the bay and its treasures.

Val-André main beach

Often cited among the most beautiful beaches in Brittany, the main beach of Val-André offers 2.5 km of fine white sand at the foot of a promenade lined with Belle Époque villas. Well oriented and sheltered from the wind, family-friendly and supervised in summer, it is an ideal launch point for our paddle boards and kayaks.

The Verdelet islet

The emblem of the resort, the Verdelet islet rises off the Pointe de Pléneuf. A bird reserve in a wild setting, it can sometimes be reached on foot during the highest tides — a sight to admire from the water too, paddling at a safe distance.

The port of Dahouët

Tucked away in a sheltered ria, the port of Dahouët was once a major cod-fishing port, from which sailors set off for Newfoundland and Iceland. Now a charming marina, its calm waters make it an ideal place to start paddleboarding.

The Promenade de la Guette

From Dahouët, the customs officers’ path climbs up to the Promenade de la Guette and runs along spectacular cliffs. The views take in the whole Bay of Saint-Brieuc and the Verdelet islet — a must-do walk above the water.

Erquy and Cap d’Erquy

About ten kilometres away, Erquy is the scallop capital, with its lively harbour and pink sandstone headland. Cap d’Erquy, a listed Grand Site, offers moorland, coves and trails facing the sea — a very popular nature getaway.

Cap Fréhel and Fort la Latte

A little further on, Cap Fréhel raises its pink sandstone and schist cliffs above the ocean, in one of the most beautiful sites in Brittany. Nearby, the medieval fortress of Fort la Latte watches over the coast — a spectacular outing not to be missed.
