What is BeachWheel?
It is a self-service lending station for all-terrain, floating wheelchairs.
This equipment is installed by towns and local authorities that want to expand the inclusive offering in their area. Available 24/7, the BeachWheel service is free, with no booking and no smartphone app.
This service is essential for families, or simply for anyone who needs to get around on hard-to-reach paths. Tourist offices and destinations can then promote this free service.
It is intended for people with reduced mobility, people with disabilities, or anyone unable to stand for long distances.
It is set up by town councils or local authorities so that the service is offered at no cost to the user.
As part of its commitment to inclusion and access to water activities, Playa Rent aims to make access to beaches and the water possible for everyone, whatever their condition.

All-Terrain BeachWheel
The all-terrain BeachWheel wheelchair opens up a wide range of possibilities for people with reduced mobility. It is perfect for a hike or a walk in the forest, a swim or a stroll along the shore.
It adapts to users’ needs for complete enjoyment.
The All-Terrain BeachWheel wheelchair is there to accompany you on all your adventures.
Beach BeachWheel
Ideal for the beach, balloon wheels replace the double wheels and make it easier to push the wheelchair on fine sand.
By increasing the contact surface with the ground, the Hippocampe wheelchair is easier to push on the beach.
The wheels improve the wheelchair’s movement and absorb shocks, increasing user comfort.

Pair of armrests
The foam-covered armrests can be swivelled and folded away to make transfers into the Hippocampe wheelchair easier.
The pair of armrests optimises user comfort, providing better lateral hold and support.
Parking brakes
Swivelling and stainless, the parking brakes keep the wheelchair still to make transfers easier and on gentle slopes.
The brakes, located under the seat, swivel to lock each wheel.
The system can be operated by the user or by the companion.
Adjustable headrest
Covered in comfortable foam, the headrest adapts to the user’s position. It can be adjusted forwards/backwards and in height.
The headrest is adjusted with wing screws, so it can be moved forwards, backwards, up and down to suit the user’s needs. This adjustment takes just a few seconds. The headrest can also be removed quickly.
Unisex harness
The 4-point unisex harness helps hold and position the user.
The harness keeps the user at the back of the seat so they sit more comfortably.
The harness also secures the user, preventing loss of balance and providing optimal stability.
Lap belt
Wide and comfortable, the lap belt keeps the user positioned at the back of the seat. Comfortable water-repellent foam protects the user from contact with the buckle.
Its buckle adjustment and fastening system allows quick positioning.
The red release button prevents it from opening too easily.
